Year 5 visit to Weymouths Tudor House.

Year 5 have been visiting the Tudor House in Weymouth. They have been busy learning about the period, and the life and times of Henry VIII. They enjoyed the trip to the house, both the tour around the house itself and a brief walk around the harbour along with sketching the outside of the house.

Welcome Year 5!

Welcome back after the summer break. We hope that you are looking forward to beginning in your new class and getting to know your new teacher. This term we will be covering Water, Rivers, Weather and Materials. Later in September, we will be going on a visit to study the River Wey near the Wishing Well. Other visits planned for the year include going to the Tudor House in Weymouth and the Mary Rose in Portsmouth. It looks to be a very busy yet exciting year and we hope that you will enjoy your time with us!

We congratulate Mrs Derrien on the birth of her daughter, Sacha, in July. She will return to school sometime in February. Until then Mr Greenacre will teach 5DH on Monday and Mrs Hyde will be with the class for the rest of the week. Miss Lynch will be also joining the year group to replace Mr Otter who is leaving to take up a teaching post in Dorchester.

Mary Rose Visit.

Year 5 had a very successful trip to the Mary Rose on Tuesday the 6th of March. While there they became archaeologists in the school room, became members of a gun crew, worked in the museum and saw the actual remains of the Mary Rose.

The Groups also visited Southsea Castle to see the place the Mary Rose actually sank.

The Staff would like to thank all of the parents of the 97 children who supported the trip.
