We are very proud of our music at Wyke Regis Junior School. We offer a wide range of musical opportunities and experience to all children.
All Children in year 3 learn recorder as part of their music curriculum and from year 4 onwards children have oppertunities to learn violin, cello, trumpet, trombone, horn, flute, clarinet, oboe and guitar with teachers from Dorset Music Service.
At a recent assembly the children in year 3 played a piece of music which you can download by clicking the following link.
Download a recording of the recorder music here.
You can find pictures of our instrumentalists in our music gallery.

Children achieve high standards of music making in their music lessons and in music clubs. We have a year 5 and 6 choir and junior singing club for year 3 and 4. We also have a recorder band and Orchestra.
Keyboard Compositions
Year 5 have been using keyboards this summer term in music. They have learned how to use chords and accompaniments and have created sequences using introductions and endings. You can hear some of their work by clicking on the links below.

Bubble and squeak.
On Friday afternoon, yr3 & yr4watched a wonderful concert given by bubble & squeak. They are 4 clarinet players, Walter, Lois, Steve and Tom, from the Dorset music service. The children had great fun listening to all sorts of music and learned lots about the clarinet as well. Four children were lucky enough to have a go on a clarinet and with Lois help Jessica from 4M managed to play ‘Bob The Builder’.
