Summer Fayre

I would like to express my thanks to the members of the Friends Committee and volunteers who helped make the Summer Fayre such a great success. At the present moment, with most of the accounting completed I can inform you that the event raised in the region of £2000. A great result.

My thanks also to the many people who supported the event with donations of cakes and other items. Finally, thank you to everyone who turned up and made the event the enjoyable experience that it was.

Christmas Bingo - Wednesday 6th December 2006
Dear Parents/Carers

Christmas Bingo - Wednesday 6th December 2006

I’m sure you don’t need reminding that it’s only just over six weeks to Christmas!  I hope you can spare some time to join us at our forthcoming annual Christmas Family Bingo Evening.

This year will be having a raffle for Christmas Hampers.  We would like to ask for donations of ‘Christmas goodies’, but would request that should you wish to donate any bottles, that they are of the non-alcoholic kind!  In due course we will be asking you to support us, by purchasing raffle tickets.  Christmas boxes can now be found in each classroom, ready to receive your donations.

Due to the ever-increasing popularity of this event, it is necessary to limit the numbers of bodies in the hall.  Tickets will be sold prior to the event on a first come first served basis.  A family ticket will admit a maximum of 2 adults & 4 children.  The cost will be £3.00 and you will be given one complete bingo book at the event, on production of your ticket.  Ticket holders will be given the opportunity to purchase additional bingo books on the door, if desired.

Doors will be opening at 6.30pm for eyes down at 7.00pm.  Refreshments will be served during the interval and the children’s lucky dip is back by popular demand.  The raffle draw will also take place during the evening.

Tickets will be on sale from the school office, week commencing Monday 20th November 2006.  Please complete the slip below and present it with £3.00 when purchasing your ticket.  Tickets can only be sold if the slip shows the number of adults and children expected to attend.

So come and join us and don’t miss the fun. Thank you for your support, we hope to see you there; good luck and we wish you all a Merry Christmas.

Annual General Meeting

Dear Parents/Carers

The Friends of Wyke Regis Junior School welcome all parents/carers and pupils at the start of this school year. The Association exists to provide facilities and equipment, which support the school and advance the education of the pupils within it.

We warmly invite you to the Annual General Meeting, which will be held on Wednesday 8th November at 7.00pm.

The Friends Committee is always looking for people to help with our various events and we welcome new ideas for fundraising. We seek to offer a variety of entertaining events for both children and adults. We are currently looking for as much support as possible, ideally two representatives from each class. If you feel you could participate either behind the scenes, or as a committee member, please complete the form below and return it to the school office by Wednesday 18th October 2006.

We look forward to meeting you.

Yours sincerely
